So there was a point where it was musicals that saved me from despair.
The worst kind of musicals: SOUTH PACIFIC. There ain't nothin' like a dame.
In fact, I cannot abide Andrew Lloyd Weber. But I do like the soundtrack to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. SUCH a catchy song.
And HAIR. Seriously, if you are ever planning on killing yourself: Listen to the Hair soundtrack first. I know I said this about The Big Lebowski (that you should watch the movie). And did that not work?
Completely random thoughts:
(1) I submit to you that caring for one's own child is not really work in they typical sense. But I do think women should be paid for it. By the state. To me though, it does not feel like work. And I wonder why. I think work requires a kind of overlord. My kid is demanding but not some kind of overseer.
(2) It surprises me that the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle has not been solved yet. Mike Little did his 6th Grade report on the Bermuda Triangle and I hesitate to tell you how many years ago that was. And yet: Still, no one knows what is up there, with the Bermuda Triangle. I cannot believe modern science sometimes.
(3) Also modern science: People still die. That sucks. It's 2009. It's almost 2010!
Grghxx? DID YOU EVER THINK PAST 2010? I never did. I never thought: I wonder what I will be doing in 2010. I guess I thought that I'd be old and my life would be over. It would be boring. Because I'd be SO FUCKING OLD THEN.
And that's not true. Right?
How can we teach young people that 40 is not old? LET THE RE-EDUCATION BEGIN!
Hair = awesome.
Big L = also awesome, and I only just watched it for the first time about a month ago. Why did I wait so long?
