I don't know. I don't generally view getting older as something associated with such positive attributes. In my (admittedly limited) experience (consisting of watching family members evolve, or devolve, as the case may be), people tend to get "more so" as they age -- more cranky, more opinionated, more f*ed up.

Call me cynical. I can take it.


I love that Doris Lessing movie, especially the artichoke and the bag of onions playing supportive roles in the background.
I associate growing older with being free of self-consciousness. Young people think everyone is looking at them, judging them--I'm still in that stage. I'd like to think you get over it by the time you're old. I suppose that's related to your egoless philosophy.
